Trials — James 1:1–11
In the opening message of our series, Building a Healthy Christian Community, James challenges us to consider how we respond when life becomes difficult.
James teaches that trials are not meaningless. The testing of our faith develops perseverance and helps us grow towards spiritual maturity. Rather than facing difficulties in our own strength, we are invited to ask God for wisdom, trusting that he gives generously.
The passage also reminds us that our circumstances and possessions do not determine our true worth. Earthly wealth quickly fades, but those who trust God can find lasting joy, wisdom and hope—even in the middle of trials.
