Colossians 4:2-6

The 2 P's

In Colossians 4:2–6, Paul encourages Christians to be devoted to prayer and intentional in sharing the good news of Jesus. This message explores the “Two Ps”—Pray and Proclaim—and considers how they shape our interactions with others.

We are called to pray faithfully, remain watchful and give thanks. We are also encouraged to look for opportunities to proclaim Christ through both our words and our actions. As we interact with those around us, our conversations should be gracious, wise and appropriate for each person.

This passage challenges us to consider whether prayer is central to our lives and whether our words help others see the hope found in Jesus.
